Ofsted Report
We are incredibly proud of our school and the wonderful feedback we received in our recent Ofsted report. The report highlights the warm, nurturing and inclusive environment that we strive to provide for every child and family at Parrett & Axe CE VA Primary School.
Inspectors recognised the care and support given to our youngest children, noting that “New Reception children receive the emotional reassurance and support they need when they start school” and that our provision provides children with a “smooth transition into school.” Established routines help children settle quickly, feel safe and enjoy their learning.
The report also praised the way our whole school community works together to ensure that every child feels valued and cared for. Inspectors noted that “the school welcomes everyone” and that leaders and staff treat every pupil as an individual, with a strong focus on their emotional wellbeing. Communication approaches, regulation strategies and our sensory room all help children to feel settled and develop resilience.
Perhaps most importantly, inspectors found that our pupils “feel safe and valued” and develop a “clear sense of belonging as everyone is fully included.” They described a calm and welcoming school where pupils arrive happy, feel cared for and are able to immerse themselves in their learning.
A message from Mr Smith, Headteacher
“I am absolutely delighted with the feedback from our Ofsted inspection. It is a wonderful reflection of the care, commitment and hard work of our staff, and of the positive relationships we have built with our pupils and families. I would like to thank every member of our team for the dedication they show every day in supporting our children, both academically and emotionally.
It is particularly pleasing to see our nurturing and inclusive ethos recognised by inspectors. We know how important it is that children feel safe, valued and happy at school, and this report shows that this is at the heart of everything we do.
While we are very proud of what we have achieved, we are already working on the next steps identified through the inspection. We are committed to continuing to develop and improve our school so that we provide the very best opportunities and experiences for every child.”

SIAMS Report
As a Church of England school, we are regularly inspected through the Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS) process. This inspection focuses on the distinctiveness and effectiveness of our Christian vision and how it shapes the life of our school community.
We are delighted to share that our most recent SIAMS inspection recognised the many strengths of Parrett & Axe. Inspectors highlighted the way our Christian values are lived out daily, the strong sense of belonging and care across the school, and the way we nurture every child to develop academically, spiritually, and personally.
The report reflects the dedication of our staff, the support of our families, and the commitment of our pupils to making our school a warm, welcoming and flourishing community.
