World Book Day will be a non-school uniform day. If you would like, you can dress up as your
favourite book character
Whole School Book Swap
At the end of the day school council will be holding a book swap event in the hall. If you have
any unwanted books (we will be having an adult section as well), please bring them in with your
child in the morning. Mr Copping will then sort them and after school you will have the
opportunity to come into school and choose new books to take away.
Any books left over after the event will be boxed up and sent to the charity Books2Africa as
part of their ‘readcycling’ project and to improve the quality of education in Africa. So
please dig out those old books and give them a new home.
World Book Day books
Our local bookshop, Little Toller Books (https://www.littletoller.co.uk/little-toller-
bookshop/) are kindly providing our free books this year. Every child will be able to choose a
book to take home on the day.
Extreme Reading for World Book Day!
What are you going to read for World Book Day?
Over the next few weeks, we will be running a competition to find the weirdest and most
wonderful place you can read your favourite book. To enter, you need to take a photograph or
draw a picture of yourself reading in the most interesting place you can find. For example, on
your scooter, up a tree, or you could even try reading upside down!
To enter, please have your photographs or drawings ready by Wednesday 1st March. You can
either print out your photographs and bring them in to Miss Nash or email them to
fnash@mosterton.dorset.sch.uk.
Mr Smith will announce the winners on World Book Day, and there will be a prize for the best
entry in KS1 and KS2.
